Öğrenci Koçluğu Eğitimi öğrencinin öğrenim yaşantısı sürecinde eğitsel alanda destek sağlamaya yönelik gizlilik ve etik değerlere bağlı bir hizmettir.
Öğrenci Koçlarının Çalışma Alanları
Öğrenci Koçu ve Eğitim Danışmanı’nın çalışma alanı içerisinde;
- Öğrenciyi tanıma,
- Öğrencinin kendini tanımasını sağlama,
- Öğrencinin yeteneklerini keşfetmesini ve güçlü yanlarını ortaya çıkarıp bunu kullanabilmesi,
- Doğru iletişim kurma,
- Öğrencinin kendine uygun hedefler seçmesi,
- Öğrencinin kendine güvenini geliştirme,
- Zamanı etkin kullanmasını sağlama,
- Okul başarısını arttırma,
- Sorumluluk alabilme,
- Etkili ve verimli ders çalışabilme,
- Yeni öğrenme stratejileri geliştirebilme,
- Odaklanma,
- Karar verme becerisini geliştirme gibi maddeler yer alır.
Öğrenci Koçluğu Eğitiminin Hedefleri
Öğrenci koçluğu, kendini tanıyan, kendine inanan ve güvenen, hedef belirleyebilen ve bu hedefler için doğru kaynakları kullanabilen, doğru iletişim kurabilen, farkındalığı yüksek öğrenciler olmayı hedefleyen bir hizmettir. Öğrenci Koçu, öğrencide gerçek bir farkındalık yaratan yol arkadaşıdır. Tüm yaş gruplarına verilen bir hizmettir. Öğrenci koçluğu çalışmasının 7 yaş ve üstü çocuklarda yapılması daha uygundur. Çocuğun okuma yazma bilmesi süreci hızlandırır. 7 yaş altı çocuklarda ise öğrenci koçluğu çalışması ebeveyn ile birlikte yapılmaktadır. Öğrencilere eğitim hayatlarında başarılı ve keyifli bir ilerleme sağlayabilmek üzere yollarını aydınlatan Öğrenci Koçları, aynı zamanda sınav kaygısı, süre problemi, motivasyon, çalışma düzensizliği gibi konularda da destek sağlar. Koç öğrencinin neden ders çalışmadığı ile ilgilenmez. Koç öğrencinin nasıl sıkılmadan ders çalışabileceğiyle ve ailenin koçun yardımlarıyla buna nasıl katkı sağlayabileceğiyle ilgilenir. Ders çalışma sorunun çözümü yine ders çalışacak öğrencide olmalıdır. Öğrenci çözümünü kendisi bulmalıdır. Koç doğru soruları sorarak öğrenciye gitmesi gereken doğru yolu buldurmalıdır.
Öğrenci Koçluğu Eğitimi, diğer tüm koçluk başlıklarında olduğu gibi, konu çocukluk-ergenlik dönemini kapsadığı için büyük önem taşır. Eğitimci alt yapısı olmayan, eğitim kurumlarının ortamlarını bilmeyen ve psikolojik altyapısı olmayan kişilerin bu tip koçluğu yapmaları sakıncalıdır. Bu anlamda eğitim koçluk hizmeti verecek olan koçun bu konularda bir alt yapısı, bilgi birikimi ve deneyimi olması gerekmektedir.
Öğrenci Koçluğu Eğitimi bazı derneklerden onaylı olarak alınabileceği gibi bazı vakıf ve devlet üniversitelerinden onaylı olarak da alınabilmektedir.
